The original painting was completed in August of 2026. The scene is based on a photo I took from Table Rock in southern Oregon. It's a fascinating place! The reflection is from a small, shallow vernal pool that is usually evaporated by mid-spring. The rainwater accumulates on the flat-topped mesas that rise about 800 feet above the Rogue Valley. From the view of this painting, the valley sits beyond the grassy plain with the mountains behind.

The geology in a nutshell: Around 7 million years ago, lava filled the ancient Rogue River. Since then, the river has carved away most of the lava rock and underlying earth, and left the two "table rocks" behind. The vast, incomprehensible amount of time, and the changes this place has gone through, is something I kept in mind while creating this painting.

If you are not satisfied with your print or original painting within 30 days of receiving it you may return it for a full refund once I have received the returned item in new condition. You are responsible for return shipping costs and packaging. I recommend saving the original packaging for 30 days, - especially for original paintings and canvas prints - if you are considering whether or not the piece will be a good fit in your home. (I have not yet had anyone return a painting or print, knock on wood!) :)
