Only the second of my "surreal, anatomical landscape" paintings. It is inspired by a variety of anatomical and other biological elements from an embryo in the womb (center) to the inner ear canal (bottom center), as well as plenty of my own elements especially towards the top panel. I tend to think of the three panels representing preconception or pre-life, life, and then afterlife, beyond life or the spiritual realm. The bottom representing pre-life due to the microscopic, cellular subject matter. The middle, being more obvious, and the top I believe represents beyond-life or a spiritual realm due to its more mysterious, or unknown qualities as well as its brightness and openness. As with all my work, however, I like to leave it open to many possible interpretations.
